"Nimda" Virus warning September 18, 2001 Nimda - Not Just Another Virus
Another Internet worm "nimda" is prowl, making its way across the internet. "Nimda" (or "Admin" backwards) is thought to be more damaging than Code Red. Nimda spreads via infected emails and through infected websites. The email has no subject but contains an attached file called "readme.exe" Whatever you do "DO NOT LAUNCH THIS FILE"
Users using Outlook mail can be infected by simply reading the email if they have HTML email enabled. Users with Notes mail must launch the attachment in order to be infected. For a complete story see the following link...
